چکیده
Scoliosis is a 3D deformity of the spine combined with pathological structural changes. Scoliosis tend to progress through growth. BSPTS method based on Schroth principles is a specific physiotherapeutic treatment method for scoliosis. It considers the 3d changes of the spine, the geometrical and axial torsion of the hole spine, thorax and pelvic. Using specific exercise to achieve better muscle balance and corrected posture in order to prevent progression, improve esthetic and function.

The Effectiveness of Schroth vs. SEAS Exercise Methods for Correcting Idiopathic Scoliosis in Adolescent: A Systematic Review
Purpose: Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) is the most common type of scoliosis and the most complex deformity of the spine. The promising results of Schroth and Scientific Exercise Approach to Scoliosis (SEAS), among other methods of exercise therapy, have attracted the attention of many researchers and therapists. However, there is still vague evidence of their effectiveness and the super...
متن کاملSchroth physiotherapeutic scoliosis-specific exercises for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis: how many patients require treatment to prevent one deterioration? – results from a randomized controlled trial - “SOSORT 2017 Award Winner”
Background Recent randomized controlled trials (RCTs) support using physiotherapeutic scoliosis-specific exercises (PSSE) for adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). All RCTs reported statistically significant results favouring PSSE but none reported on clinical significance. The number needed to treat (NNT) helps determine if RCT results are clinically meaningful. The NNT is the number of...
متن کاملThe effect of a 1-year-long intensive Schroth therapy in patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis over 45 Cobb degrees who refused surgery in an outpatient clinic in Hungary, a case series
Methods In this case series we included 7 female patients with AIS at the age of 13 with primary thoracic curve, wearing TLSO brace 23 hours/day, Risser: 2-3. The mean Cobb angle at the start of treatment was 47.3° ±2.4°, while the mean ATR with Scoliometer was 14.3° ±3.4°. Patients received Schroth intervention for 12 months in an outpatient clinic. Schroth therapy was individual and personali...
متن کاملEffectiveness of Schroth exercises during bracing in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis: results from a preliminary study—SOSORT Award 2017 Winner
BACKGROUND Bracing has been shown to decrease significantly the progression of high-risk curves to the threshold for surgery in patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS), but the treatment failure rate remains high. There is evidence to suggest that Schroth scoliosis-specific exercises can slow progression in mild scoliosis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of Schrot...
متن کاملSchroth Physiotherapeutic Scoliosis-Specific Exercises Added to the Standard of Care Lead to Better Cobb Angle Outcomes in Adolescents with Idiopathic Scoliosis – an Assessor and Statistician Blinded Randomized Controlled Trial
BACKGROUND The North American non-surgical standard of care for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) includes observation and bracing, but not exercises. Schroth physiotherapeutic scoliosis-specific exercises (PSSE) showed promise in several studies of suboptimal methodology. The Scoliosis Research Society calls for rigorous studies supporting the role of exercises before including it as a tre...
